You don’t have to go to the gym to keep fit and get in shape

The gym is a great place to work out, BUT you don’t need to go to get results! If you must force yourself to go to the gym or you really don’t enjoy exercising there – maybe you should look at other ways to exercise.

With spring now upon us (finally!) you might fancy heading outdoors to go for a walk, a run or either doing a circuit in the back garden. Do you struggle with motivation? You may benefit from training with a friend or even in a group – there are so many exercise classes to choose from in your local area.

If you do something you enjoy – you are more than likely stick to it and therefore this will help you to achieve your goals.

Don’t force yourself to be a morning person

You turn on your phone and scroll through Instagram and Facebook. You see people heading to the gym at 5am or opening their laptop at 6am. These people may function better in the morning. However, if you don’t and you prefer to exercise or work later in the day -there is nothing wrong with that.

Don’t force yourself to get up early if you are not a morning person because you won’t be as productive as you think you will be!

Acknowledge when you are tired

If you feel tired throughout the day – try to have a nap if you or take some time out to relax. Don’t force yourself to stay up late if you are tired. Sleep and recovery is so important and a lot of us don’t get enough of it!
