meet the team
Leah – PT and Class Instructor
Journey so far…
I’ve been in the fitness industry since 2010 – however I didn’t always want to be a Personal Trainer.
My journey started with graduating from Plymouth University with a degree in Physiotherapy. With very few work opportunities in my home county of Cornwall it was off to Birmingham I went!
Securing a job as a Physiotherapist was fantastic and I gained valuable experiences of working in a hospital, private clinic and with a rugby team.
The year I started my first Physio job was also the same year that I decided to become a Personal Trainer too!
Juggling the two jobs was challenging and in 2015 I decided to ‘hang up my healing hands’ and put all my energies into my personal training career!
Experience as a Personal Trainer
I started my career in The Gym Group. A large commercial gym – the perfect place to learn the fundamentals and meet new clients.
After 5 years of working in a gym setting, I ventured outside and started running female outdoor fitness camps in Birmingham City Centre. I loved helping the ladies to feel fitter, stronger and improve their confidence.
Then in 2017 – I converted my garage into a small studio. This has allowed me to run personal training sessions and exercises classes from literally behind my house!
I’m looking forward to continuing to grow my business and help more and more ladies who want to feel fitter, healthier and stronger!
Kelly - Pilates Instructor
I have been in the fitness industry for over 25yrs and worked in many different roles, these range from being a PT, a lecturer and an external verifier. However, my real passion has always been teaching group exercise classes, with step, hi/lo and Pilates being my favourite! I have taught across numerous sites, areas and even taught nationally for a large fitness company where over 500 people joined in one of my classes!!!!! Yes, I was nervous!
After completing my PE teaching degree, I decided school was not the educational setting for me and that fitness was my true love, so I made the choice to teach young people and adults to become fitness instructors, PT’s and group exercise instructors. I taught and assessed for over 15yrs in a private training provider setting and a college. I absolutely loved teaching and assessing, however, after having my daughter I decided it was time to move on!
I currently work for (and have been there for 7yrs) one of the largest health, fitness and wellbeing awarding organisations as a Qualification Development manager, where I design, develop and review health, fitness and wellbeing qualifications for the UK and International market.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, whether it is taking my daughter to gymnastics sessions, walking our French bulldog (he is worse than any kid!) or going out for food and drinks. I adore being with friends and family!
Lauren - Sports Massage Therapist
I’ve been in the health, fitness and wellbeing industry for many years, working at leisure centres and teaching sports alongside competing internationally for my country as a swimmer, triathlete and more recently as a track and road cyclist. It was during this time, competing and training as an professional athlete, where I grew to learn more about Sports Massage, finding how useful and beneficial they were pre/post event and in periods of training as maintenance or recovery.
Even before qualifying in 2019 as a Sports Massage Therapist, I often spoke highly of Sports Massage and it’s benefits to friends, family plus teammates and I still do now. The belief that Sports Massage is for all and not just athletes is still there! Sports massage can cater for muscular tightness, pain or discomfort. In turn encouraging recovery, greater ranges of movement and increases in performance whether that be a goal in the gym, a chosen sport or exercising with friends and family. Alongside Sports Massage, I also started offering Pre-natal and Post-natal massage in early 2022 and now currently I’m training up to the next level of qualification in Sports Massage Therapy, always wishing to progress for my own development but also for the benefit of my clients.
Working or competing I’ve always had the desire to help others achieve a healthier, happier life both physically and mentally. Listening to your needs and ideals we can work together where through various Sport Massage techniques your aims of improved circulation, posture, mobility, strength, endurance and general wellbeing etc can be reached!
Away from the massage world, I’m not often sitting still. I do love to be outside, whether that be cycling, running, walking or hiking. I’m happiest most in the company of friends and family, regardless of the activity!
Charlotte – PT and Class Instructor
I have been a PT for just over 1 year now and have ALWAYS been into sports and fitness. I am a keen runner and functional strength trainer. Ever since I was at school I have loved anything that involves exercise. Competing in county, national and international levels within athletics up until the age of 17.
During COVID-19 and lockdown this was all stripped away from me so I decided to channel my energy into helping others who have never really found that love for exercise and movement! I began doing home workouts and going to the gym a lot more with my friends to help them understand what to do in the gym, this is where I found my passion for helping others develop physically and mentally and that is when I decided to get my personal training qualification.
I currently work at Pure Gym Sutton Coldfield as a personal trainer and fitness instructor teaching classes, which was a great place for me to start my venture in the fitness industry as I have met so many new people and learnt some incredible fundamentals to building my business and to become a great coach and I am still learning everyday!
Working, competing or training I have always enjoyed helping others succeed and progress in their personal fitness journey’s where their physical capabilities, mental toughness, body confidence and general wellbeing progresses in a positive direction!
Away from the PT world, I am constantly on the go still! I love being outside (mainly running!) or walking my crazy cocker spaniel with family and friends. I am also partial to the occasional afternoon snooze because you’ve got to recharge at some point right?!

I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga and Meditation and Mindfulness to people who want to discover more balance and harmony in their life. I am a classically trained Pilates instructor, of which I honour and teach the classical Mat Pilates method, with a contemporary twist.
Yoga and Pilates are my absolute passion, over the last decade of personal experience, self-enquiry and hours upon hours of training I have come to value and understand the importance of looking after your health and well-being. I feel and fully appreciate how both practices have improved my inner strength and being calm has helped me to live a happy and healthy life.
This is why I became a teacher!!! I want people to experience the benefits this holistic approach can bring to your life and how movement is your best medicine. The aim of my teaching is to guide and help people to feel better both on and off the mat, to have more awareness of the mind and body connection, and to show people that anyone can do Yoga and/or Pilates, working at a level that is challenging, yet comfortable and safe for you!
My classes are designed to give you an enjoyable experience, you don’t need to be super bendy or be able to stand on your head (unless you want to of course). I want my students to feel at ease and have fun!! I teach with warmth, humour and compassion, I want you to feel you belong in my class and to trust the process, with time and practice, you will feel the connection between the mind and body and trust me, you will feel and see a positive shift in your habits and lifestyle.
When I’m not busy teaching or practising Yoga and Pilates classes in various gyms, my head is in a book doing lots of self-studying on these practices or doing another Yoga/Pilates course. Every year I go on 2 or 3 Yoga retreats for self-development, and to discover more about Yoga. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer of which I have a number of clients and teach a variety of other Fitness classes. This all round knowledge and experience is shared in my classes to support and help you to become stronger, improve your flexibility and mobility, improve balance, reduce stress and decrease the risk of injuries. Join me in a class and become the best version of yourself!!
